Most vegetarians and vegans alike are on what seems a constant journey to find great tasting alternative meat substances. Here in the Seventh Day Adventist world it isn’t a true potluck without someone bringing a dish of delicious Choplets a.k.a Adventist Seitan a.k.a Wheat Gluten Steaks! (sorry gluten free peeps… There’s really no way to make these without the gluten 😕).
Simple Pasta Sauce and Zucchini Boats!
I was craving a simple red sauce but I really dislike most jarred pasta sauces you find in the store. There is usually too much going on in them, too much sugar, or too much salt. I like my sauce flavor profile simple. I finally found a recipe for sauce I love and it’s easy to make. I won’t say it’s completely homemade – who has time for that? lol I use bionaturae’s organic strained tomatoes as my base because I love how simple it is to use and since I’m not a big fan of chunky sauce this is perfect. For dinner tonight, I decided to use up the rest of a huge zucchini we had gotten from church and made stuffed “ricotta”zucchini boats. Continue reading
DIY Natural Deodorant
For those of you who have’t read my Mother Dirt post- I use Mother Dirt’s AOB mist as my deodorant in conjunction with the recipe you will find below. It is not necessary to use the AOB mist AND the deodorant as the Mist itself does a great job on its own after a few weeks of use. Yet, I am a creature of habit and like the smell of the rose water and Ylang Ylang oil.

About a month ago, I found out that I’m pretty much allergic to almost every deodorant I have tried. Even while using the most natural and organic deodorants on the market I would developed hives, hyper pigmentation, and itchy dry skin. No matter how expensive or natural the deodorant, my skin reacted. I was seriously about to just give up and deal with the pain and discoloration. Continue reading

Probiotic Action – Acne Experiment
I have been doing a lot of research on probiotics lately. I’ve been taking them for years for heartburn and to help restore a healthy gut micro-biome. They work beautifully for internal purposes but I was really curious about what they could do for my acne!
